• Active Duty Military members must bring a Valid Military ID or DD-214 along with PCS orders showing station State as Louisiana.
• Police officers must provide valid credentials.
• Veterans must show a valid DD-214, a Louisiana ID displaying Veteran Status or a Valid Veterans Association (VA) ID Card.
• First Responders (Firefighters, Nurses, Doctors, Reserve Deputies, Paramedics, etc.) are eligible on a case-by-case basis and status must be verifiable.

FIRST-TIME CERTIFICATION:

• Regularly scheduled First-Time CCHP Certification is $135.00
• Private First-Time CCHP Certification is $155.00 per person.

RENEWAL CERTIFICATION:

• Regularly scheduled CCHP Renewals are $85.00 per person.
• Private CCHP Renewals are $100.00 per person.

Digital Textbook Media Is Emailed to Students, Hard copy textbooks are also available for purchase on the day of training for $30.00 – *Subject to availability

GROUP PRICING FOR CCHP TRAINING:

Concealed Handgun Permit Course Private Group

• $200.00 for individual
• $165.00 per person as a part of a group of 2-3 people
• $135.00 per person as a part of a group of 4 or more
• Group pricing is not available for renewal classes

Digital Fingerprinting Services

• $45.00 per set (2 FBI Fingerprint cards)
• $55.00 per certified digital set (customer must provide digital media to save the files to. Emailing digital fingerprint files is not secure.)

Passport Photo Services

• $15.00 per printed set (two prints)
• $10.00 per digital print set (customer must provide digital media to save the files to. Emailing passport photos is acceptable.)

ALL STUDENTS MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING WITH THEM:

• Valid Louisiana Identification (Driver’s License or State issued ID Card). Digital Versions, such as “LA WALLET” IS NOT ACCEPTED.
• A Firearm to perform the required qualification (Rental firearms are available if needed). PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO SHOOT THE QUALIFICATION WITH THE FIREARM YOU INTEND TO CARRY. IF YOU SO CHOOSE, BRING ANY ONE PISTOL FOR THE QUALIFICATION EVOLUTION (Most will bring a .22LR due to the current cost of ammunition). Please only bring ONE firearm… You will NOT be allowed to switch between firearms during the qualification evolution.
• Hearing and Eye Protection (Eyeglasses can be substituted).
• 50 Rounds of Ammunition for your firearm (If renting, ammunition will be included in the cost of the rental firearm).
• Proper attire: No open-toed shoes, No Low-Cut shirts (long sleeves are recommended), Long Pants, A Hat of some kind with a brim.
• A magazine loader if you can not efficiently load or struggle loading your magazines.
• A working knowledge of the pistol you are shooting (If renting, a brief will be given on the use of the firearm being used).
• Lunch, beverages and/or snacks (DO NOT BRING ALCOHOL!) and make sure you clean up your area prior to leaving the classroom.

ALL STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING:

• A qualification target.
• A Digital Download of the course materials (Hard Copy Textbooks are available for purchase the day of the course).
• A Certificate following successful completion and qualification of the course.

This is a mandated nine (9) hour course by the state of Louisiana. Cell phone use will be limited. All attendees are required to be alert and pay attention to the curriculum. Period breaks will be provided.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

Act 4 of the First Extraordinary Session of the 1996 Legislature amended and re-enacted R.S. 40:1379.3 providing for the issuance of statewide concealed handgun permits by the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Public Safety & Corrections (DPS). Obtaining a CHP in Louisiana requires a 9 hour certification course which covers:

• One (1) hour of instruction on handgun nomenclature and safe handling procedures of a revolver and semi-automatic pistol;
• One (1) hour of instruction on ammunition knowledge and fundamentals of pistol shooting;
• Three (3) hours of instruction on the use of deadly force and conflict resolution which will include a review of R.S. 14:18 through 14:22 and which may include a review of any other laws relating to the use of deadly force;
• One (1) hour of instruction on handgun shooting positions;
• One (1) hour of instruction on child access prevention; and
• Two (2) hours of actual live range fire and proper handgun cleaning procedures
• Live range fire shall include 12 rounds each at 6 feet, 10 feet, and 15 feet for a total of 36 rounds;
• Each applicant or permittee must perform at least one safe reload of the handgun at each distance;
• Each applicant or permittee must score 100% hits within the silhouette portion of a NRA B-27 type silhouette target with a least 36 rounds
